Questions and Answers in Vipassana Practice

Question: I am lazy to meditate
Answer:

1) people feel lazy to meditate, because thinking or perceive meditation is not important.
2) Cannot get happiness and joy in meditation.                        
So firstly, ask yourself, do you get happiness and joy from meditation. if yes, then you will be interested to meditate more. If you cannot get any happiness, then find out why? Do you push yourself too hard in daily life, and also in meditation? then you need to change your attitude in daily life.                         
Meditation suppose to make us happy and calm.                         

Another reason that block our progress in meditation is that the five hindrances are too much. They are sensual desire, ill-will, sloth-torpor, worry and restlessness, and doubt...so you need to reduce these five hindrance. The way is to increase our five faculties -faith , effort, mindfulness, concentration, wisdom.                         

So, to reduce laziness and also sloth-torpor, do more walking and standing meditation. These will increase your effort. Do not just sit, because you think sitting is meditation.
